  • Biology and ecology

The teaching and research activities of the Department of Biology and Ecology lie at the interface of two scientific axes: agro-ecological transitions & predictive bioengineering.

They cover a wide range of disciplines applied to plants, micro-organisms and animals: bioclimatology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, ecology, ecophysiology, genetics, physiology, systematics, epidemiology, and biology of plant, animal (zoology) and microorganism (phytopathology) populations.

  • Environment, production, resources and systems

The core competence of the Department of Environment, Production, Resources and Systems lies in the engineering of complex systems associated with livestock production, crop production, and land and water management in territories shaped by agriculture (cultivated and farmed).

The teaching and research activities of the department are developed along the agro-ecological transition axis. The main disciplinary fields of the department are animal behaviour, animal production, pastoralism, agroecology, plant nutrition, crop production, soil sciences, and hydrology. These scientific fields contribute to the analysis and design of livestock, crop, and agricultural production systems.

  • Sciences for Agro-bio-processes

The Department of Sciences for Agro-Bio-Processes covers a wide range of disciplines: mathematics and their interactions, information technology and applications, optics and photonics systems, mechanics of fluid environments, automatic and computer-integrated & robotic, Process engineering, agrifood biotechnologies & food sciences, theoretical and physical & analytical chemistry, biology of organisms & microbial biotechnology.

The teaching and research activities of the department lie at the interface of two scientific axes: sustainable food systems: sustainability of food systems, energy transition for agricultural production and processing technologies, and biorefinery of entire plants; Predictive bioengineering: digital agriculture & big data science.
